Astral Expands Sales Force with Asia Sales Representative Hire

Asheville, NC –  Astral, the leading provider of premium PFDs and footwear in the USA, is proud to announce the hiring of Samuel Chung as Asia Sales Representative. Effective immediately, Samuel will serve Astral retailers and distribution partners in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Chung’s proximity to Astral Asian footwear and PFD manufacturing operations will bring Asian sales representation closer to the source of production with the goal of better service and communication with Asia business partners. An experienced sales manager from the footwear industry, Chung is committed to the mutual success of the Astral brand and their Asia distribution network.

“Asia is an obvious market for Astral to focus,” said Astral CEO Philip Curry. “Our products are well adapted to their environment and are locally made in the region. Having lived in the area for a few years, I feel confident that we offer a unique brand story and product to the Asian market.”

In addition to his sales and business talents, Chung is a seasoned waterman with years of experience rock fishing on Taiwan’s most intense island locations. Armed with firsthand knowledge of Astral’s growing product line, Samuel is now committed to evolving his skills in a kayak as well.
