Longtime Outdoor Group Sales Director Van Brinkerhoff Retires from K2 Sports

Seattle, Wash. (May 20, 2014)—Longtime K2 Outdoor Group Sales director Van Brinkerhoff is retiring this month from his post, where he oversaw the sales of the Madshus, Atlas Snow-Shoe, Tubbs Showshoes and K2 Skate brands.

This week, K2 Sports named Jason Tillinghast as its new sales director for K2 Outdoor, effective immediately.

Brinkerhoff started at K2 in 2006 as a sales manager, following a 10-year stint as an independent sales rep in the outdoor industry. Brinkerhoff initially oversaw U.S. sales for the Atlas and Madshus brands before also assuming sales management responsibilities for Tubbs and K2 Skate in 2010.

Brinkerhoff’s announcement brings to an end his storied career at K2, where he has been a fixture in the outdoor industry. “Van is leaving K2 Sports on top, with growth in all sales categories he oversees, as well as a strong plan for continued success,” said Tim Petrick, President and CEO of K2 Sports. “There is no doubt Van made significant contributions to K2 since he joined the company and he will be missed by all.”

Tillinghast comes to K2 from the Timex Group, where he most recently held the position of Sales Manager for Sports Specialty.  “I have wanted to return to the Outdoor activities I am passionate about and couldn’t be more excited to be directing the sales efforts for Madshus, Atlas, Tubbs and K2 Inline Skates,” stated Tillinghast.  “ Going forward, my goal is to build upon the momentum Van established with each brand within the K2 Outdoor group.”
